Hebei University to Mark her Centenary Celebration in 2021 (2nd Announcement)

HBU has unswervingly committed herself to self-development in a new era and will create new brilliance in the future. On October 18, 2021, HBU will celebrate its 100th anniversary. The centenary celebration is an important milestone in the history of reform and development of HBU. It is also a new starting point for HBU to promote the “co-construction by Ministry of Education, the People’s Government of Hebei Province” and to accelerate the establishment of a first-class university of high-level.

Since the release of the first announcement of HBU’s centenary celebration, all teachers, students, staff, alumni at home and abroad, and people from all walks of life have been eagerly concerned and taking an active part in the preparation work with their full support. After carefully considering a wide selection of submitted proposals, we are pleased to announce the logo and the mascot for the centenary celebration.

Ⅰ. The Logo for HBU’s Centenary Celebration

The main design elements of the logo are composed of Arabic numeral 100, the main teaching building and the school motto of HBU, which are integrated into the time span of 1921-2021. The logo uses red and gold as the main color, highlighting the celebration atmosphere.

20 well-ordered golden lines symbolize the outline of the iconic HBU building- the main teaching building, which represents HBU’s educational philosophy and cultural heritage; the red number 100 corresponds to the 100th anniversary of the founding of HBU: “Seek truth from facts” reflects the school motto; an arc, which like a vibrant red sun, implies HBU will create new brilliance.

Ⅱ. The Mascot for HBU’s Centenary Celebration

Composed of a set of cartoon images, the mascot is anthropomorphic and full of affinity. They named Hebao and Hebei, representing all students of HBU and implying that HBU adheres to student-oriented. Their heads are the Great Wall pattern, symbolizes the land of Yanzhao, which has nurtured and supported HBU from the very beginning. They have bright and harmonious colors, beautiful and vivid appearance, which represent the youth and sunshine.
